Our membership year goes from February 1 to January 31 of any given year. The cost for an annual membership is $50.00.
The Comox Valley Farmers (CVFI) Institute represents a diverse, local group of producers/farmers, processors as well as farm and agriculture supporters.
Agriculture, farming and farmers are important to us and we commit to promoting, supporting and ultimately contributing to its success in our region. We want to see our members succeed in the business of farming and agriculture and we want to see agriculture continue to be a valued and important contributor to the social, economic and environmental fabric of the Comox Valley’s long-term prosperity.
Founded and governed by farmers-for farmers, it is important to us that the CVFI remain producer/farmer led and driven and this is entrenched in our constitution.
We meet in person on the third Tuesday every month at 7pm a the Dove Creek Hall. We do not meet in December, May, June, July or August.
Our Membership Fee is 50$. In a voting situation, only full registered members will be able to vote. Please note that if you apply for membership as a farm or family, each farm or family gets one vote; NOT each member of the farm or family. We traditionally hold our annual general meeting and elections in March. To run for the Board or vote at an AGM, you must have been a full registered member the year prior.
There are three ways you can pay your membership fee:
- by cash or cheque in person by attending a meeting;
- by etransfer to: “banking.cvfi@gmail.com” (it is set up for auto deposit)
- by mail to: P.O. Box 3493, Courtenay, B.C., V9N6Z8
There are many ways to be engaged and involved and we are only as successful and as strong as our membership! Our activities are membership driven – Members are encouraged to provide us feedback on what you think we should be focusing on and become involved in our activities.
